France is the cradle of art and culture. Every stone, every street has a story to tell.” — Yo-Yo Ma

Why Just Visit France …
When You Can
Experience It With Every Step?

Normandy doesn’t whisper history—it roars it. From the legacy of William the Conqueror to the D-Day beaches that reshaped the modern world, this region is a testament to what is possible when strength, strategy, and unity converge. Medieval towns, towering cathedrals, and time-honored culinary traditions—like bold Calvados, rich Camembert, the bite of Andouille de Vire (smoked sausage), and decadent seafood—remind you that every detail has a backstory.

Every stop is handpicked, every moment crafted for maximum enjoyment, from deep historical immersion to the thrill of the 24-hour Le Mans speedway. You’ll hike coastal trails in Normandy, kayak along the River Loire, and cycle past vineyards and castles. Join us for a journey through history, culture, and adventure.

This isn’t just a trip.

It’s a walk through the tides of time.

Then there’s the Loire Valley—the “Valley of the Kings”. These châteaux were royal playgrounds for Charles II, Francis I, and Catherine de’ Medici, but above all, symbols of influence, built to last. Beyond the stone walls, the land produces some of France’s most iconic wines—Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, and Cabernet Franc, cultivated with the same respect for time and tradition.

Accomodations

You haven’t experienced France unless you’ve stayed in a Château. We’ve selected two decadent, historical properties:

Château St Gilles - Built in 1703 and lovingly restored by the Lukacs family to provide authentic details in a gracious and refined setting. You’ll have the opportunity to stroll the manicured lawns and perhaps take some rest and restorative time in the spa.

Château de Rochecotte - The original château dates back to the 14th century, but we’ll be guests in modern, 19th-century elegance, hosted by the Pasquier family, who restored the soul and splendor of the château back to its 1828 opulence. We’ll rest, nestled underneath a giant heritage oak and surrounded by woods and serenity.

Culinary Experiences

Dine in historic French Chateaux, sample the iconic cidre and Calvados, sip the finest wines, and learn the secrets of French cooking in an unforgettable gastronomic experience.

Normandy & Loire Valley Itinerary

Travel through centuries in a single week!

*Note: The itinerary may adjust due to weather or other conditions.

Day 1

May 25 —Welcome & e-bike tour

Medium Activity Level: E-bikes

We’ll meet in the medieval city of Bayeux, one of the few towns in Normandy left untouched by the devastation of World War II. What remains is a beautifully preserved medieval center, complete with historical details and a stunning cathedral dating back to the 11th century.

After a brief orientation and logistics overview, we’ll head out on an e-bike tour of the surrounding countryside, where you’ll soak in the history and French landscape. Along the way, we’ll sample some of the region’s best cuisine and get a taste (literally and figuratively) of what makes Normandy so unique.

We’ll conclude our ride at Château St. Gilles, where we’ll kick off our journey with a celebratory three-course welcome dinner that highlights the culinary traditions of the region.

“It was a lovely day for strolling along the beach
—unless you were trying to stay alive.”

– Ernie Pyle

Day 2

May 26 —WW2 Tour

Low activity level: Beach hike

Start your day with a traditional French breakfast before we embark on a journey through The Longest Day—a deep dive into the events of D-Day. We’ll walk the beaches, visit the towns and museums, and step into the history that changed the course of the modern world.

We’ll end the day at the American Cemetery, where the sound of Taps echoes across the cliffs and through every cell of your body—a solemn reminder of the cost of valor.

Back at the château, we’ll lighten the somber mood with a French-style BBQ, giving you a chance to unwind, connect, and take in the peace and quiet of the sprawling property.

Day 3

May 27 —The Cliffs of Étretat

High Activity level: Hiking, morning and evening classes

After an intense and moving day steeped in history, we’ll shift gears, starting with a morning sweat session to get the body moving, followed by a hike along the stunning white cliffs of Étretat. With the sea stretching out beside us, we’ll pause for a light yoga session right on the cliffs—an unforgettable setting for a deep breath and some reflection.

We’ll enjoy a simple picnic lunch, then head to one of our favorite local spots for a cider and cheese tasting that highlights the best of Normandy’s flavors.

Back at the château, we’ll stretch those tired legs in a sunset yoga class and then the evening is yours. You’re welcome to dine at the hotel or explore the charming restaurants of nearby Bayeux. Bonne nuit—tomorrow we have an early start.

Day 4

May 28 — Mont Saint-Michel & Bay Walk with a Park Ranger

Medium Activity Level: Bay walk, evening class

We’re off early this morning to visit one of the most iconic sights in all of France: the abbey at Mont Saint-Michel. You’ll take in the island’s winding medieval streets and dramatic silhouette, then experience its most breathtaking view—from below, standing in the sands of the bay at low tide. Don’t let the stories of quicksand scare you—we’ll be guided by a local ranger who will lead us safely across the bay and share the secrets of this remarkable tidal landscape, with the abbey rising above us like a scene from a storybook.

A nap on the ride back wouldn’t be unheard of, but we’ll bring you back to life with an evening movement class to shake out the legs and build an appetite. Dinner is on your own tonight—either at the hotel or back in town.

Day 5

May 29 — Travel Day, Le Mans Pit Stop, & Transfer to Château de Rochecotte

Low activity level: Morning class

We’ll wake up with a vigorous class to prepare for our travel day. We leave Normandy behind and make our way into the heart of the Loire Valley, but not before a legendary detour.

We’ll stop in Le Mans, home of the world-famous 24-hour endurance race, for a behind-the-scenes look at the museum and track that made motorsport history. From vintage race cars to cutting-edge engineering, this visit is a dream for anyone who loves speed, strategy, and machines built to push limits.

Then we’ll trade the roar of engines for the quiet elegance of Château de Rochecotte, our home for the next few nights. Surrounded by vineyards and views, we’ll have time to settle in, explore the grounds, and ease into a slower rhythm as we shift into the Loire Valley. An indulgent dinner at the Château will cap a very full day.

Day 6

May 30 — E-Biking the Loire: Châteaux, Wine & Cheese

High Activity Level: E-bikes, morning and evening classes

We’ll kick off the day with a morning class to shake off the road from yesterday’s drive, then head outside to get set up with our e-bikes. From there, we’ll cruise along the scenic Loire River to visit two of the region’s most stunning châteaux: Azay-le-Rideau and Château de Langeais. We’ll pause for a picnic lunch along the way, surrounded by vineyard views and timeless architecture. Back at Château de Rochecotte, we’ll gather for a wine and cheese tasting that showcases the best of the valley.

Later, enjoy a gentle, scenic yoga session—or take your time to relax by the pool, stroll into town, or simply unwind under the shade of the trees.

Day 7

May 31 — Kayaking, Picnic, & Farm-to-Table Cooking Class

Medium activity level: Morning class, Kayaking

We’ll kick off the day with a class to wake up the body and engage those core muscles—perfect prep for our ultimate water-based workout: kayaking down the Loire.

We’ll paddle past serene scenery and riverside villages, stopping for a relaxed picnic on the shores of the river. After heading back to the hotel, you’ll have time to rest, nap, or wander before we regroup in the late afternoon.

Then it’s off to a true farm-to-table experience: a hands-on French cooking class. We’ll learn local techniques, cook with fresh regional ingredients, and of course, enjoy the fruits of our labor, complete with thoughtfully paired wines.

As the evening winds down, we’ll raise a glass and reflect on the journey: from medieval Bayeux to the speedway at Le Mans, from coastal cliffs to riverside peace—a walk through the tides of time, shared with good food, good wine, and even better company.

Day 8

June 1 — Departure

All good things must come to a close. After a final breakfast at the château, we’ll say our goodbyes and assist with transfers to the train station in Tours. You’re also welcome to extend your stay, perhaps exploring the charming town of Amboise or soaking up more of the City of Light.

Either way, you’ll head home with full hearts and bellies, stronger legs, and memories woven from centuries of history, movement, and connection.

Packing & Travel

Travel Recommendations

We suggest flying directly into Paris, then taking a train or private car to Bayeux, where your adventure begins. At the end of the trip, we’ll drop you off in Tours—an ideal spot to catch a train back to Paris or continue exploring the beautiful Loire Valley region.

Suggested Add-On Experiences

From Paris: Visit Giverny, the charming village where Claude Monet lived and painted his iconic gardens.

From Bayeux: Enjoy a guided walking tour of Bayeux to uncover more of its medieval charm and rich history.

From Tours: Consider an overnight stay in Amboise, with tours of Château de Chenonceau, a walking tour of the town, and a visit to Clos Lucé—Leonardo da Vinci’s final residence.

France has neither winter, nor summer, nor morals. Apart from these drawbacks– it’s a fine country.

What to Pack

Bring light, breathable layers for our active days—comfort is key as we explore. Good footwear is essential, including sturdy walking shoes and light hiking shoes for our adventures on foot. Evenings call for something a bit more polished—this is France, after all! Think elevated casual rather than athleisure, perfect for dinners and evenings out.

  • Wear traditional fitness clothing that won’t restrict movement and is sweat-wicking and breathable. For your daily classes, you’ll find almost everything you need in your Body Synergy FitCation swag bag, including a day pack, water bottle, yoga mat, and resistance bands.

  • We’ll often transition from hiking or biking into lunch or sightseeing, so athletic leisurewear such as hiking shorts, capri pants, skorts, or light pants that work for both activities is ideal.

  • When in France…your evening wear should be elevated beyond athleisure but no need for sport coats or stilettos. Slacks, chinos, nice jeans, skirts, or sundresses will cover any occasion on our itinerary. Bring a light jacket or wrap for cooler evenings.

  • Trail shoes with a gripping sole are necessary for hikes and useful for biking. Light fitness sneakers are recommended for fitness classes and can double for walking tours.

  • Choose comfortable walking shoes or sandals that you’ve already broken in—you don’t want blisters or discomfort on the trip.

  • Loafers, flats, wedges, or sandals work well. You’re welcome to bring heels to complete your evening look—many dinners will be in châteaux—but it’s not required since fashion sneakers are perfectly acceptable these days. Hurrah!

Other suggested packing items:

  • Toiletries

  • Hand towel

  • Quick dry towel

  • Mosquito repellant

  • Sunscreen

  • Motion sickness medication or sea bands

  • Rain jacket

  • Hat

  • Sunglasses

  • EU adapter for plugs

  • Travel-sized USB charger

  • Travel wallet (with RFID protection for your security).

  • Also consider uploading a photo of your passport and/or driver’s license to a password-protected cloud storage service (Dropbox, Google, Microsoft) and credit cards to an encrypted mobile wallet.

Training Notes

While we’re not summiting any peaks, this is an active itinerary. Participants should be mobile and comfortable hiking 3–5 miles over varied terrain, including cobblestones, single-track trails, and muddy flats, and be stable on a bicycle.

E-bikes create a “work as hard as you want” situation, and we’ll provide plenty of opportunities to burn off the Camembert and smooth out the wrinkles in our seven yoga and fitness classes. Classes are designed for a moderate fitness level, with modifications offered to ramp up the challenge or ease back, depending on your needs.
